LAWS OF MARYLAND.

Duty of
treasurer

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That the Treasurer of the State,
on the warrant of the Comptroller, disburse the said sum or
'sums of money herein appropriated for the objects and pur-
poses herein specified, to or upon the order of the person or
persons, or body politic, or corporate, entitled to receive the
same.

Effective.

SEC. 3. And be it enacted. That this act shall take effect
from and after the first day of October, eighteen hundred and
ninety-five.

Approved April 6th, 1894.

CHAPTER 634.

AN ACT to repeal the Acts of the General Assembly of
Maryland, passed at the January Session, eighteen hundred
and sixty, Article 21, Sections 280 to 283, inclusive, of the
Public Local Laws of eighteen hundred and sixty, eighteen
hundred and sixty-seven, Chapter 319, and eighteen hundred
and eighty, Chapter 317, Article 22 of the Code of Public
Local Laws, entitled "Washington County," sub title "Sharps-
burg," and to enact the following in lieu thereof, in amend-
ing and revising the charter of Sharpsburg, and in providing
for the government thereof.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of

Repeal.

Maryland, That the acts of the General Assembly of Mary-
land, passed at the January session, eighteen hundred and
sixty, eighteen hundred and sixty-seven, eighteen hundred and
eighty, article '22 of the Public Local Laws, entitled "Wash-
ington County," sub-title "Sharpsburg." be and the game are
hereby repealed, and the following enacted in lieu thereof.

SEC. 2. The inhabitants of Sharpsburg, in Washington

Incorporated.

countv, State of Maryland, are hereby created a corpora-
tion, by the name of the burgess and commissioners of
Sharpsburg, and by that name shall have perpetual succes-
sion, may sue and be sued, may have and use a common seal,
and possess such other incidents and powers as attach by law
to a municipal corporation; and may purchase and hold real,
personal and mixed property for the benefit of said corpora-
tion; provided, however, the burgess and commissioners shall
