SEC. 14. And be it enacted. That the stockholders of the
said Real Estate Loan and Banking Company of Baltimore
Citv shall be liable according to Section 104, Article 23,
Code 1904.
SEC. 15. And be it enacted, That this Act shall take effect
from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 509.
AN ACT to repeal Sections 54, 55, 56 and 66 of Article 48,
of the Code of Public General Laws of Maryland of 1904,
title "Inspections," sub-title "State Horticultural Depart-
ment," and to re-enact the same with amendments, and to
add a new section to said Article 48, to follow Section 55,
and to be designated as 55 A.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Sections 54, 55, 56 and 66 of Article 48 of the
Code of Public General Laws of Maryland of 1904, title

Repeal and
re-enact.
|
"Inspection," sub-title "State Horticultural Department,"
be and the same are hereby repealed and re-enacted with
amendments, and that a new section be added to said Article
48, to follow Section 55, and be designated as 55 A, so that
Sections 54, 55, 56, 66 and 55 A shall read as follows :
54. The said Horticultural Department shall be under the
control of the board of trustees of the Maryland Agricultural

College and Experiment Station, to whom the officers created
under this sub-title shall be responsible; the salary of the
State Horticulturist, State Entomoligist and State Patholo-
gist shall be fixed by the said board of trustees, and the
said board shall likewise fix the compensation of any
assistant or assistants, employee or employees, and control
all expenses thereof; the expenses of said department shall
be paid out of any appropriation hereinafter provided for ;
and said board of trustees are invested with all powers
necessary to carry into effect the provisions of this sub-
title; but no expense shall be incurred beyond the amount
appropriated.
55. It shall be the duty of said State horticulturist, State
entomologist and State pathologist, their assistants and
