giving such notice to the applicant and the objector as such
judge shall deem reasonable and proper, and shall award the
cost of such notice and the costs incurred by such hearing
as such judge shall deem equitable and just.
SEC. 6. And be it enacied, That the clerk of the county

shall file and carefully preserve the application, certificate
and affidavits, and after giving the said notice, if no cause
be shown to the contrary, or if cause be shown and the said
judge shall direct in writing that the license shall be issued,
shall issue to the applicant or applicants the license applied
for upon receiving from the applicant or applicants the
license fee now required, or that may be hereafter required
by law for the issuing of the license applied for.
SEC. 7. And be it enacted, That if the license issued shall

be to sell spirituous or fermented liquors in quantities not
less than one pint or to keep a hotel or ordinary, and the
application shall be for nine, six or three months, then the
license fee shall be three-fourths, one-half or one-fourth of
the amount severally required by law for the issuing of such
license for one year, but if the license shall be to sell spirit-
uous or fermented liquors in quantities less than one pint,
except under the provisions of a license to keep an ordinary,
then there shall be no reduction made because the same is
for a portion of a year only; and before such license shall be
issued the clerk shall receive the amount now required or
that may hereafter be required by law for the issuing of a
license to sell spirituous or fermented liquors in Frederick
county for one year.
SEC. 8. And be it enacted, That nothing in this Act shall
be construed as authorizing the issuance of licenses to sell

spirituous or fermented liquors in any portion or portions of
Frederick county where the issuing of such license is now
prohibited by law, nor shall anything in this Act be con-
strued to repeal any provision of law providing terms upon
which a license to keep an ordinary shall be issued.
SEC. 9. And be it enacted, That this Act shall take effect
from and after the 1st day of May, 1906.
