to furnish such quantities of electric light, electric heat and
electric power, or any of them, as may be desired or required,
at any point in said counties, and to contract for and furnish
electricity for light for lighting streets, roads, public high-
ways and public or private buildings in said counties, and
for motive power and other purposes; and said corporation
is hereby authorized and empowered, by and with the con-
sent of the authorities of any city or town in said counties,
or with the County Commissioners of said counties, respec-
tively, to lay, purchase, construct or build lines, conductors,
conduits, and erect poles and string wires along, upon, under
or over the public highways, roadways and streets, whereso-
ever located, in such towns, or city or county, as the case
may be, and may acquire, own and hold all lands and
property necessary for the uses, business and purposes of
said company.
3. And be it further enacted, That said company be

and is authorized and empowered to construct, maintain
and operate a railway or railways, within the limits of
said counties, with the proper and necessary switches,
turnouts and any and all mechanical contrivances, devices
and appliances suitable to operate either a single or
double-track railway or railways, and to run thereon cars and
carriages for both freight and passenger traffic drawn or
propelled by steam, electric or other motive power; and said
company shall have power and is hereby authorized to charge
such reasonable rates for transportation of passengers and
freight on such railway or railways, and any and all branches
thereof, as the board of directors may from time to time
determine; and said company shall also have the power and
right, as hereby authorized, to acquire, hold, manage, sell,
grant, assign, convey or otherwise dispose of and deal in real
estate and personal property of any description whatever,
and to engage in any manufacturing, mercantile, commercial
or other business or enterprise, and to acquire, own, open,
maintain, equip and operate mines and quarries in said
counties and sell and dispose of the product or products
therefrom.
4. And be it enacted, That said company be and is
hereby authorized to enter upon, grade, occupy and use any
public road, street, bridge or highway in said counties, or
any village or incorporated town or city therein for the pur-
