a keeper provided, as required by said Chapter 314, until
same was deemed unsafe for public travel, and it was con-
cluded, owing to the great current, that it was more feasible
to build a bridge at another place, which was done at the
sole expense of Queen Anne's county, and the same main-
tained and a keeper provided alone by said last named
county, Talbott county neglecting and refusing any part of
same; and

WHEREAS, It again became necessary to erect said draw-
bridge, and which was done at the original place, at the cost of
Queen Anne's county, from necessity; and said county used
and expended in erecting said drawbridge in the year 1905
the sum of $19,333.55, its total cost, which was raised on
its bonds, dated September 1, 1904, bearing five per centum ;
and

WHEREAS, It is just, right and equitable, that said Talbot
county should, at least, pay the one-half of said sum of
$19,333.55 and interest, and also the additional sum of two
hundred dollars per annum for the purpose of paying Talbot
county's proportionate part of the expense of maintaining
said bridge and paying a keeper of the draw thereof, although
some of the people of said Talbot county now claim that the
removal of said causeway did not prove to be as beneficial
to the people of said county as many of them supposed it
would be, and same was an expense made necessary by
their previous actions ;

SECTION 1. Therefore be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That the County Commissioners of Talbot

county be and are hereby authorized, directed and required
to levy on the assessable property of said Talbot county,
and pay over to the County Commissioners of Queen Anne's
county the one-half of said sum of $19,333.55, and interest
at the rate of five per centum from September 1, 1904, to
wit., $9,666.77, together with interest at the rate of five per
centum per annum from September 1, 1904, said levy to be
made at the next annual levy of said county and the annual
levies thereafter in such way and for such sums as may be
necessary to pay said sum of $9,666.77 to the said com-
missioners of Queen Anne's county in eighteen equal annual
instalments, $537.04 1/3 on the first day of January in each
and every year, together with interest on said amount of
