CHAP. 423

Authority
given to
exact and
collect taxes.

Section 122 B. And be it further enacted, That the corporate
body of the said town of Grantsville, now known as " The
Commissioners of Grantsville," are hereby authorized and
empowered to exact and collect the tax hereinbefore referred
to on all applications for permits to sell liquor within the
corporate limits of the town of Grantsville between the first-
day of May 1906 and the election and qualification of the
Mayor and Council of said town herebefore provided for; and
all applications for permits to sell liquors in said town
between the date last referred to shall be made to the said
" The Commissioners of Grantsville."
Section 122 o. And be it further enacted, That it shall not

be lawful for the clerk of the Circuit Court for Garrett county
to issue license to any person or persons, firm or corporation
to sell spirituous or fermented liquors or lager beer after the
thirtieth day Of April, 1906, within the corporate limits of
the town of Grantsville unless said person or persons, firm
or corporation shall first present to said clerk of the Circuit
Court, in addition to all other requirments of law, a permit
from the Mayor and Council of said town of Grantsville
authorizing said person or persons, firm or corporation, to
sell liquor or liquors in said town.
Section 122D. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall
take effect from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 424.
AN ACT to amend, enlarge and extend powers of the charter
of " The Citizens' Savings Bank of Saint Michaels, Talbot
County," and to change the name of the same.
WHEREAS, The Citizens' Savings Bank of Saint Michaels,

Preamble.

Talbot county, has been duly incorporated under the general
laws of the State of Maryland authorizing the formation of
saving institutions, for the purpose of conducting a savings
bank in Talbot county, with a capital of ten thousand dollars,
divided into four hundred shares, according to the certificate
of incorporation duly approved and recorded in the office of
the clerk of the Circuit Court for Talbot county; and
WHEREAS, It is the wish of the directors and stockholders
of the said bank that its corporate powers be increased and
