SEC. 5. And be it enacted, That the provisions of this Act
shall in no way be regarded as applying to such persons or
homes as may be recommended by the supervisors of city
charities of Baltimore city.
SEC. 6. And be it enacted, That this Act shall take effect
from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 335.
AN ACT to authorize the Board of Police Commissioners
of Baltimore City to pay Katie Spitznagle, the widow of
Charles Spitznagle, a policeman who was a member of the
Police Force of Baltimore at the time of his death, a
weekly sum of money out of the special fund.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-

land, That the board of police commissioners for the city
of Baltimore be and they are hereby authorized, in their dis-
cretion, to pay Katie Spitznagle, widow of Charles Spitz-
nagle, a police officer who died of a stroke of paralysis on
Christmas day, 1905, after a long chase and an arrest in the
performance of his duty, the sum of nine dollars per week,
said sum to be paid out of the fund in the hands of said
board of police commissioners known and accounted for as
a special fund, to be paid to her during her lifetime and
under the authority of an Act of the General Assembly of
Maryland, Chapter 459 of the Acts of 1886 and amendments
subsequently made thereto, out of any money which under
the existing laws is provided for its application.
SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this Act shall take effect
from the date of its passage.

AN ACT to refund Elizabeth S. Jones, Maria S. Jones,
Lawrence D. Cassard, Myron S. Cassard and Percy E.
Cassard, heirs at law of James Simms, deceased, a sum of
money erroneously paid by them into the State Treasury.
