SEC. 17. And be it enacted, That this Act shall take effect
from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 328.
AN ACT to refund to George T. Smith the sum of money
paid by him to the Comptroller of the Treasury of the
State, and converted into the Treasury of the State, for
license to dredge for oysters with the sloop "Bettie,"
which license, by mistake of the Comptroller, was for-
warded to the wrong address, and said sloop was not used
at all under the same.

WHEREAS, George T. Smith, of Oriole, Somerset county,
Maryland, on the 9th day of November, 1904, applied to

the Comptroller of the Treasury for license for the sloop
" Bettie," and three hands, to dredge for oysters for the
season ending March 15, 1905, paying therefor to said
Comptroller the sum of twenty-one dollars and sixty cents
($21.60); and
WHEREAS, In pursuance of said payment the Comptroller
issued license No. 460, and by mistake the same was for-
warded to Westover, Maryland, instead of to the proper
address of the said George T. Smith, and in consequence
was not used by him for said sloop and hands during the
said season; therefore
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-

hereby authorized and directed to issue his warrant upon
the treasury of the State in favor of George T. Smith, of
Somerset county, aforesaid, for the sum of twenty-one dol-
lars and sixty cents ($21.60), heretofore recited, paid by him
for said unused license, as aforesaid, out of any money in
the treasury not otherwise appropriated.
SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this Act shall take effect
from the date of its passage.
