avenue, and with it to Grant avenue, to Oldtown road, and
thence (1) across the Cumberland Heights property by a con-
venient route to William street, and also (2) with said Old-
town road to Louisiana street or avenue (and on to Maple
side); then with said street or avenue to said William street,
and with said William street to Mechanic street, and with
Mechanic street to Bedford (or Mill) street, and with said
last mentioned street to Decatur street, and with Decatur
street to Baltimore avenue, and thence to Baltimore street,
and with it to Mechanic street; also from Bedford street
with Columbia street, and Columbia avenue to Wills moun-
tain.
SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That the capital stock of said

company shall be as now set out in its articles of incorpora-
tion, with the privilege of beginning business as soon as the
same shall be subscribed and paid in, and with the further
privilege of increasing said capital stock to an amount not
exceeding one hundred thousand dollars, and with the priv-
ilege of increasing the number of its directors to not exceed-
ing twelve.
SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That the board of directors of

said company be and they are hereby authorized and empow-
ered to issue in the name and as the act of said company,
bonds in such amounts as said board of directors may from
time to time deem necessary for the purposes of said com-
pany, and to secure the payment of said bonds and of
interest thereon by mortgage of all or any part of the prop-
erty, franchises, tolls and revenues of the said company.
SEC. 4. And be it enacted, That this Act shall take effect
from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 317.
AN ACT to authorize the Governor to appoint twenty addi-
tional Notaries Public for Baltimore City.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-

land, That the Governor, by and with the advice and consent
of the Senate, be and he hereby is authorized to appoint
twenty notaries public for Baltimore city, two of whom may
be females, in addition to the number now authorized by law.
