the Senate shall biennially, appoint two persons, residents of
the State of Maryland, as managers of said sanatorium for a
term of six years dating from the first day of May succeed-
ing their appointment. They shall hold office until their suc-
cessors are appointed and qualified so that there shall always
be six appointed members in the board, and they shall serve
without pay. They shall be chosen with a view to their
intelligence, experience and character, without reference to
ecclesiastical or party ties, and the Governor shall also have

power, in case of any vacancy occurring in the board from
death, resignation, removal from the State or any other cause,
to appoint a person to fill such vacancy for the balance of
the unexpired term of the manager whose position becomes
vacant.
3. There shall be appropriated for, and the Treaurer of
the State upon the warrant of the Comptroller shall pay to

to the managers of the Maryland Tuberculosis Sanatorium
for the purchase of land and the erection of buildings the
sum of fifty thousand dollars for the fiscal year of 1907 and
fifty thousand dollars for the fiscal year of .1908.
4. There shall be appropriated for, and the Treasurer of

the State upon the warrant of the Comptroller shall pay to
the managers of the Maryland Tuberculosis Sanatorium dur-
ing the fiscal year beginning October first, 1907, the sum of
fifteen thousand dollars, payable in equal quarterly instal-
ments on the first days of January, April, July and October,
for the support of said sanatorium.

CHAPTER 309.
AN ACT to repeal Section 93 of Article 12 of the Code of
Public Local Laws, title "Garrett County," sub-title
" Dogs," so far as said section applies to said County, and
to add certain sections to said article, to be designated as
Sections 93 A, 93 B, 93 C, 93 D, 93 E, 93 F, 93 G, 93 H, 93 I,
93 K, providing for a license tax on dogs, and to create a
fund to protect the sheep industry.
