office as now prescribed or as may hereafter be prescribed
by law or ordinance, to the best of his skill and judgment.
SEC. 14. And be it further enacted, That the treasurer
shall, within thirty days from the date of his appointment,
and before entering upon the duties of his office, give bond

to the State of Maryland, with surety or sureties, to be
approved by said commissioners in the penalty of five hun-
dred dollars, or in such penalty over that amount not exceed-
ing one thousand dollars, as the commissioners shall pre-
scribe, conditioned that he will well and faithfully account
for all moneys paid over to him by the bailiff of said corpo-
ration, or that may be received by him from any other person
or persons, or from any other source, for the use of said cor-
poration, and shall well and truly pay over to his successors
in office, or to the order of said commissioners, signed by
the president, all said moneys, and shall perform all other
duties of his office according to law and the ordinances of
said commissioners; he shall keep full and correct accounts
of all moneys received by him, with the sources from which
the same were received, and the dates of such receipts and
of the disbursements made by him as aforesaid, with the
dates thereof, and the persons to whom and on what account
the same were made, and for what purpose.
SEC. 15. And be it further enacted, That the commissioners
shall, on or before the 15th day of May in the year 1906,

and on or before the same date of every succeeding year
thereafter, appoint not less than two nor more than three
persons as assessors for said town, and before they shall
proceed to act as such assessors they shall take an oath
before a justice of the peace or a notary public for Caroline
county that they will assess and value the assessable prop-
erty of every sort within said town at its full cash value with-
out favor, partiality or prejudice, to the best of his skill and
judgment; that they shall enter and record in a book to be
provided for that purpose an accurate and fair account of all
property of every sort within said town liable to assessment
for State taxes under the laws of this State and the valua-
tion thereof, together with a list of the owners thereof, which
shall be returned by them, or a majority of them, to the said
commissioners on or before the thirtieth day of June next
succeeding their appointments, and which any person inter-
ested therein may inspect without charge; and if any one
