and sell gas for all purposes in the territory through which
it is now authorized to operate, and by increasing the number
of its board of directors to such number as the stockholders
may provide, not exceeding twenty-four (24), instead of
twelve (12), as now provided by its charter; a majority of
said new board to constitute a quorum.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 269.
AN ACT to authorize and direct the County Commissioners
of Anne Arundel County to locate, build and construct a
New Bridge over Spa Creek, and to provide, by the issuance
of bonds, the means for making said construction.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-

land, That the County Commissioners of Anne Arundel
county be, and they are hereby authorized, directed and
required, immediately after the passage of this Act, to cause
the bridge over Spa creek, in said county, to be constructed.
SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That within five days after the

have a competent bridge engineer to thoroughly examine
said bridge and make plans and specifications for the con-
struction of said bridge, and in employing said bridge
engineer said County Commissioners shall, in advance of his
employment, make a contract with him for the amount to be
paid him for examining said bridge, drawing and making
plans and specifications for its construction, and also for
supervising the work until the work is completed and the
bridge ready for public travel.
SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That the said County Commis-
sioners, after having said plans and specifications for the

the construction of the same, shall advertise daily for pro-
posals for the construction of said bridge for ten days in
some daily newspaper published in Baltimore city, and also
in the Anne Arundel county newspaper doing the county
publishing, for the same length of time, said proposals to
be delivered sealed to the County Commissioners on the day
