CHAP. 45

CHAPTER 45.

AN ACT to authorize and require the County Commissioners
of Frederick County to pay to the Commissioners of
Walkersville a proportion of the franchise tax paid by the
savings banks and other institutions and corporations-
located within the taxable limits of Walkersville in said
county.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That it shall be the duty of the County Commissioners
of Frederick County to pay over annually to the Commis-
sioners of Walkersville, one-fourth of the franchise tax the
said County Commissioners shall receive under the provis-
ions of Section 86 of Article 81 of the Code of Public General
Laws of Maryland from every savings bank, institution or
corporation organized for receiving deposits of money and
paying interest thereon, located within the taxable limits of
Walkersville and having its principal office therein.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted. That this Act shall take effect
from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 46.

AN ACT to appropriate the sum of one thousand dollars
annually for the use and benefit of the Maryland State
Fireman's Association.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-

land, That on the first day of October in each and every
year, unless hereafter repealed by the General Assembly of
Maryland, the Treasurer of the State of Maryland shall pay
to the Treasurer of the Maryland State Fireman's Associa-
tion, a corporation duly incorporated under the laws of the
State, upon voucher signed by the president and treasurer of
said corporation, the sum of one thousand dollars, to be for
the use of the Maryland State Fireman's Association, for the
payment of benefits and the expenses of keeping up the said
organization. And the said sum of one thousand dollars
annually is hereby appropriated from such revenues as may
be in the State treasury.
