county, a corporation duly incorporated under the General
Laws of this State," be and the same are hereby repealed
and re-enacted with amendments, and eight additional sec-
tions, to follow immediately after Section 8, be and the same
are hereby added thereto and respectively designated as
Sections 8 A, 8 B, 8 C, 8 D, 8 E, 8 F, 8 G and 8 H, and the
charter of the Supreme Council of United Craftsmen be
and the same is hereby amended in accordance with the
provisions of said re-enacted and additional sections, which
respectively read as follows :
2. That this corporation is hereby declared to be legally
organized under its charter, as amended by Chapter 512 of

CHAP. 164

the Acts of the General Assembly of Maryland, passed
at the January Session of 1904; and all the acts, con-
tracts, matters and things done and executed by it in effect-
ing and completing its organization under its charter or
in pursuance of its constitution and laws, and all its certifi-
cates issued thereunder, be and the same are hereby legalized,
ratified and confirmed; provided its said constitution and
laws, where inconsistent herewith, be changed and amended
in accordance with the provisions of this Act. And except
as is herein provided, this corporation shall be governed by
this Act and shall be exempt from all provisions of the
insurance laws of this State; and no law hereafter passed
shall apply thereto unless it be expressly designated therein.
3. That this corporation shall be known as a fraternal

organized and carried on for the sole benefit of its members
and their beneficiaries, and not for profit. It shall have a
lodge system with ritualistic form of work and representa-
tive form of government, and in order to fully and effectually
carry out the purposes and protect the interests for which it
is incorporated, it shall have the power to ordain, establish
and put in execution a constitution and laws, rules and regu-
lations, not in conflict with its charter and the laws of this
State, as shall seem necessary and proper for its organiza-
tion, maintenance and government; and such constitution,
laws, rules and regulations made in accordance with the
provisions and objects of this Act shall be legal and binding
until altered, amended or repealed. The supreme council,
as now and as hereafter it may be constituted, when in
regular session or in special session called for that purpose,
