they shall order, and in the event that all the property upon
which taxes shall be in arrears shall not be sold at the first
general advertisement as aforesaid, the same may be re-
advertised upon the order of the County Commissioners in
manner and form as above set forth ; nothing in this Act
shall authorize the treasurer to collect moneys now required
by law to be collected for licenses or otherwise by the clerk
of the Circuit Court, but all of said funds collected by the
said clerk shall be paid over to the said treasurer upon the
order of the County Commissioners.
SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That all Acts or parts of Acts
inconsistent with this Act are hereby repealed, and that this
Act shall take effect from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 818.
AN ACT making appropriations for the support of the State
Government for the fiscal year ending on the thirtieth day
of September, nineteen hundred and eight.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That for the expenditures in the support of the State

Government for the fiscal year beginning with the first day
of October, 1907, and ending with the thirtieth day of Sep-
tember, 1908, the following sums of money, or so much
thereof as may be necessary, be and the same are hereby
appropriated, that is to say :

For the salary of the Governor, four thousand five hun-

dred dollars ; for the salary of the Secretary of State, two
thousand dollars ; for the salary of the chief clerk to the
Governor, eighteen hundred dollars ; for the salary of one
clerk to the Governor, twelve hundred dollars ; for the salary
of the messenger to the Governor, one thousand dollars ;
for the salary of a stenographer to the Governor, nine hun-
dred dollars ; for the salary of the Comptroller of the
Treasury, two thousand five, hundred dollars ; for the salary
of the chief clerk to the Comptroller, eighteen hundred dol-
lars ; for the salaries of three assistant clerks to the Comp-
troller, fifteen hundred dollars each, forty-five hundred dol-
lars ; for the salaries of two assistant clerks to the Comp-
