or the costs incurred in connection therewith they may pro-
vide for the imprisonment of the offender for a period not
exceeding thirty days, or until the fine and costs are paid.
SEC. 7. And be it enacted, That Section W of said Chapter
|

Repeal and
re-enact.

341 of the Acts of 1900 be and the same is hereby repealed
and re-enacted with an amendment, so as to read as follows :
Section W. The Mayor and Council shall annually levy a
tax upon all assessable property within the corporate limits,
|

except upon such real estate as is used exclusively for farm-
ing purposes, as may be necessary for municipal purposes,
not to exceed in any one year fifty cents on the one hundred
dollars, in addition to the tax required to be levied for the
payment of the interest on the bonds issued by the Mayor
and Council to the amount of four thousand dollars, under
the authority of Chapter 72 of the Act of General Assem-
bly of Maryland for the year 1896, and for the creation of a
sinking fund for the payment of said bonds at maturity ;
and all taxes levied on property assessed, as provided by
this Act, shall be a lien on said property, real and personal,
until paid, and interest shall be chargeable on said taxes
after thirty days from the time when such taxes are due and
payable.
SEC. 8. And be it enacted, That this Act shall take effect
from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 786.
AN ACT to provide for taking at the General Election to
be held in the year 1907 the sense of the voters of this
State in regard to calling a Convention for altering the
Constitution or for framing a new one according to the
provisions of Article 14, Section 2, of the Constitution of
this State.
