and if the purchaser has not paid the purchase money or
the subsequent taxes, said payment shall be applied to the

payment of the taxes for which said property may have
been sold, and all taxes thereon then in arrears, with interest
thereon according to law, and the costs of proceedings ;
but such sale shall not be set aside if the provisions of the
law appear to have been substantially complied with, and
the burden of proof shall be on the exceptant to show the
same to be invalid.

And sub-section (e) of Section 19 be and the same is
hereby repealed.

CHAPTER 101.

AN ACT to amend Article 4 of the Public Local Laws of
Maryland, entitled, "City of Baltimore," as the same was
enacted by Chapter 123 of the Acts of the General Assem-
bly of Maryland, passed in the year 1898. by adding an
additional section to said Article 4, to follow Section 58
thereof, and to be known as Section 58 A.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
