goods and chattels, land or tenements of the person or
persons so refusing or neglecting to pay, after giving at least
twenty days' notice of the time and place of sale by written
or printed handbills, set up in two public places in said town
or printed in some newspaper published there.
SEC. 25. And be it enacted, That any person who shall pay
his or her taxes levied as aforesaid within thirty days after

crackers and other explosives; for the protection of public
property, sidewalks, shade or ornamental trees from injury
or obstructions; providing for the paving of sidewalks and
assessing the expenses thereof in whole or in part upon the
respective owners of the property fronting thereon; for the
license or tax on public exhibition or amusements of all
kinds, billiard, pool or bagatelle tables and tenpin alleys and
for the collection of the same; for a tax on persons for each
dog kept by them and to cause any dog to be killed; for the
promotion of morality, health, convenience and safety of the
inhabitants of said town; and for the opening, extending,
widening, repairing, improvement and the closing up of
streets, lanes and alleys of said town; and all damages done
and all benefits received by the opening, closing, extending,
widening or improving of said streets, lanes or alleys shall
be determined and assessed by three disinterested persons,
