CHAP. 614.
General
meeting of
stockholders

SEC. 14. And be it enacted, That the directors may call a
general meeting of the stockholders for any purpose relating
to the affairs of the corporation, by giving at least ten days'
notice thereof in one or more of the newspapers published in
Harford county, and by written or printed notices mailed to
the stockholders; they may be required, on the written appli-
cation of the shareholders holding a majority of the shares of
stock, to call a general meeting of stockholders, and in case
of their refusal or failure so to do, the said shareholders hold-
ing a majority of the shares of stock may call such a general
meeting as hereinbefore mentioned ; in case of refusal so to
do, the said shareholders holding two hundred and fifty shares
or more of stock may call such general meeting in the manner
above mentioned.

How to
be construed.
|
SEC. 15. And be it enacted, That nothing in this Act shall
be so construed as to authorize the said corporation to issue
any. note, token, scrip or evidence of debt to be used as
currency ; and the Legislature hereby reserves the right to
alter, amend or repeal this Act or any part thereof.
SEC. 16. And be it enacted, That this Act shall take effect
from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 615.
AN ACT to prohibit all Railroad Companies and Corpora-
tions from issuing, selling or receiving tickets for passage
through the city of Baltimore without coupons to and from
said city, and allowing stop-over privilege therein.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That no railroad company incorporated by or
under the authority of this State, or doing business therein,
shall issue, sell or receive tickets for passage through the city
of Baltimore, or make agreement or agreements with any
other railroad company or companies outside of this State to
issue or sell tickets for passage over their respective lines
through the city of Baltimore, unless there is a coupon on
said tickets for passage from a given place in or out of this
State to the city of Baltimore, and another coupon on said
tickets from the city of Baltimore to a given place in or out
of this State.

SEC. 2. Be it further enacted, That in issuing or selling all
tickets for passage in this State through the city of Baltimore,
or making agreements with other railroad companies outside
of this State to issue or sell tickets for passage through the
