CHAP. 607.

and trolleys, or any part thereof, including buildings, bridges,
necessary warehouses, depots and stations, and all work what-
soever which may be necessary to the proper completion and
working of said railroad and branches, and may acquire any
land, earth, timber, sand, gravel or other material required for
any of the purposes aforesaid, by an agreement with the
owner or owners of any land, earth, timber, gravel or other
materials or any improvements for the construction, operation
or repair of said road or its works, for the purchase or use
and occupation of the same ; and in case they do not agree, or
if the owner or owners or any of them be a feme covert
under age, or non compos mentis, or out of the county in
which the property may lie, when such lands or materials may
be needed, the said company may proceed to condemn and
acquire the same or the use thereof for the purposes of said
railroad, or for the purposes of the motive power thereof, in
the manner provided for by the general laws of this State,
as now in force or as they may be hereafter enacted so far as
the same may be applicable, and may condemn lands, easements,
rights, ways, materials and privileges for the purposes of the
company in the manner aforesaid, and shall have all other
rights, privileges and powers which are granted by the general
laws, so far as the same do not conflict herewith.

Books to be
opened tor
subscription
to capital
stock.

SEC 7. And be it enacted, That the said board of directors
arc hereby authorized to open books for subscription to the
capital stock of said railroad company at such times and places
as they may deem proper; that the said board of directors
shall have power to determine in what instalments said sub-
scription to said capital stock shall be paid.

Authority to
extend its
lines.

SEC. 8. And be it enacted, That the said railroad company
shall have and is hereby given power to extend its line or lines,
or construct its road upon any public road or highway in Prince
George's and Montgomery counties; provided, it first has and
obtains the consent and approval of the Board of County Com-
missioners for said counties, and shall have the power to extend
or construct its road upon the bed of any street or highway
within the corporate limits of Laurel and Brookeville, or any
other incorporated town ; provided, however, that the consent
and approval of the Mayor and City Councilmen or Town
Commissioners of said towns of Laurel and Brookeville, or
any other incorporated town, respectively, shall have been first
obtained.

SEC. 9. And be it enacted, That the said company so iucor-
porated shall have the power to contract for and purchase or
lease, or consolidate with any other line or lines, or parts of
lines of any other railroad company or electric power com-
pany now authorized, constructed or hereafter to be constructed
