CHAPTER 593.

AN ACT to regulate the size of barrels used for shipment of
agricultural products, commonly called truck, to be added
to Article 97 of the Code of Public General Laws, title
"Weights and Measures," to follow after Section 27, and to
be known as Section 28.

CHAP. 583.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That an additional section be added to Article 97
of the Code of Public General Laws, title "Weights and
Measures," to follow immediately after section 27, to be
known as section 28, and read as follows :

added.

Section 28. It shall not be lawful for any person or persons,
or corporations in the State of Maryland, to use, in the shipment
of those agricultural products, commonly called track, a barrel
of less size and dimensions as follows, to wit : the head or ends
shall not be less than 17 inches; the staves shall not be, less
than 27 1/2 inches ; inside measurements at bilge not less than 19
inches ; and the height of barrel, from the bottom head to the
top end of the staves, shall not be less than 26 inches; single
head or double head, from head up, 24 1/2 inches. Any person
violating this section shall be fined not less than one nor more
than tive dollars for each offense, and the use of each barrel
so prohibited shall constitute a separate offense.

CHAPTER 594.

AN ACT to refund to L. S. Gladding a certain sum of money
paid into the Treasury of Maryland.

WHEREAS, On the 13th day of October, 1900, a State
dredging license was issued to L. S. Gladding, owner of a
sloop named "Nora and Anna;" and

WHEREAS, The said L. S. Gladding, after using the said
license for five days, was taken sick and died, the said sloop
being sold into Virginia and no longer used in the waters of
the State of Maryland ; therefore,

Preamble

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That the Comptroller of the Treasury be and he
is hereby authorized to draw his warrant upon the Treasurer
to the order of L. S. Gladding, or his legal representative, for
the sum of eighteen dollars and seventy-five cents, being the
amount so paid into the treasury by L. S. Gladding.
