CHAP. 587.
Subject to
certain
provisions.

SEC. 5 A. Provided the said corporation shall be subject at
all times to the provisions of the Acts of eighteen hundred
and ninety-two, chapters one hundred and nine and two hun-
dred and seventy-nine, or amendments or supplements thereto.

Location.

SEC. 5 B. And the home office of the said body corporate
shall be located in Baltimore city, Maryland.
SEC. 6. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 588.
AN ACT to authorize and empower the County School
Commissioners of Harford County to grant a pension to
Samuel J. Tammany, a retired school teacher of Harford
County.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That the Board of County School Commissioners
of Harford county be and it is hereby authorized and
empowered in its discretion to grant to Samuel J. Tammany,
of Harford county, a retired school teacher of said county, a
sum of money not to exceed twelve dollars a month, payable
quarterly, for and during his natural life, in recognition of
his services as an educator in the public schools of Maryland
for the past fifty years.

CHAPTER 589.
AN ACT to regulate the payment of wages by Corporations
or Associations engaged in Mining or Quarrying, Manufac-
turing, operating Steam or Electric Railroads, Street Rail-
ways, Telegraph. Telephone and Express Companies, doing
business in Maryland.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That from and after a period of one month, sub-
sequent to the first day of April, in the year nineteen hundred
and two, every association or corporation doing business in the
State of Maryland employing wage-workers, whether skilled
or ordinary laborers, engaged in manual or clerical work, in
the business of mining, manufacturing, operating a steam or
electric railroad, street railway, telegraph, telephone or express
company, shall make payment in lawful money of the United
States, to said employes, laborers and wage-workers, or to their
