provided, that the Mayor and City Council who shall' be in
office at the time this Act shall take effect shall hold their
respective offices until their successors shall be elected and
shall qualify under the provisions of this Act.
SEC. 4. And be it enacted, That this Act shall take effect
from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 570.

AN ACT to make an appropriation for the Iceboat
"Annapolis."

CHAP. 570.

WHEREAS, The State of Maryland is one-half owner of the
iceboat "Annapolis," which by law is subject to the order of
the Governor for public business, and since the State has con-
tributed nothing since 1892 for the repair and operation of
said boat ; therefore,

Preamble.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That the sum of ten thousand dollars be and the same is
hereby appropriated for the maintenance, repair and operation
of the iceboat "Annapolis," the said sum to be paid to the
Harbor Board of Baltimore in two equal annual payments;
provided, that whenever the Governor or the Harbor Board
find it necessary to do so that the "Annapolis" (or the
"Latrobe") shall keep the bay and its tributaries, where acces-
sible, (north of the Choptank river), free from obstruticon by
ice when this service can be done without detriment to the
commerce of the port of Baltimore.

CHAPTER 571.

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact with amendments Section two
hundred and fifty-three of Article seventeen of the Code of
Public Local Laws, title "Prince George's County," sub-
title "Liquor and Intoxicating Drinks," and an Act of
the General Assembly of Maryland amendatory thereto,
approved April eight, eighteen hundred and ninety, chapter
four hundred and sixty, of the Laws of Maryland for eigh-
teen hundred -and ninety, so far as the same applies to the
District of Hyattsville and Bladensburg in said county.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That section two-hundred and fifty-three of Article
