CHAP. 664,

Policemen tc
be appointed,

SEC. 9. And be it enacted. That for the purpose of preserv-
ing order in and around the grounds of said corporation, the,
Board of Police Commissioners of Baltimore city, upon
application of the company, may appoint such number of
policemen as the said company may require, and shall issue to
each of said persons a commission for such period as the said
board may deem proper, to be recorded in the office of the
secretary of said board and revocable at the pleasure of the
board ; and every such policeman, before entering upon the
duties of his office, shall take and subscribe before the secre-
tary of the Board of Police Commissioners the oath or affirma-
tion prescribed by the sixth section of the first Article of the
constitution, to be recorded in said office.

Conservator
of the
peace.

SEC. 10. And be it enacted, That every policeman who has
been thus qualified shall be a conservator of the peace, pos-
sessing all the common law and statutory police powers and
authority of constables, policeman and other peace officers, and
should any exposition or exhibition be held within the limits
of any county in the State of Maryland, then similar powers to
those conferred upon the Board of Police Commissioners here-
inbefore mentioned shall be vested in the County Commis-
sioners of the county or counties in which such exposition or
expositions shall be held; and the compensation of every
special officer appointed by authority of this Act shall be paid
by said company, and such officers shall not be entitled to
receive any public compensation,
SEC. 11. And be it enacted, That this Act shall take effect
from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 555.
AN ACT to authorize the Mayor and Councilmen of Frost-
burg, in Allegany county, to issue bonds for the purpose of
increasing and purifying its water supply, aud improving
and extending its system of water-works.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That the Mayor and Councilmen of Frostburg, in
Allegany county, are hereby authorized to issue coupon bonds
of said town to an amount not exceeding fifteen thousand
dollars, which said bonds shall be signed by the Mayor and
clerk of said town and sealed with the corporate seal, and
shall be denominated "Frostburg Water Bonds of 1902," and
bear interest not exceeding four per centum per annum, pay-
able semi-annually, to be issued in denominations of $500, to
