CHAPTER 67.
AN ACT to amend the Charter of the Presbyterian Eye,
Ear and Throat Charity Hospital.

WHEREAS, On the twentieth day of December, eighteen
hundred and seventy-eight, William W. Spence, Edgar G.
Dawson, John J. Thompsen, Charles F. McCoy, Julien J.

Chisolm and Joseph D. Small were incorporated under the
name of the Presbyterian Eye and Ear Charity Hospital of
the City of Baltimore, under the provisions of the Public
General Laws of Maryland ; and whereas, by the Act of
eighteen hundred and eighty-two, chapter four hundred and
ninety-three, the charter of said corporation was amended by
changing its name to the Presbyterian Eye and Ear Charity
Hospital of Baltimore, and the number of its governors
increased from twelve to twenty-four and its powers extended
and defined; and whereas, by the Act of eighteen hundred
and eighty-eight, chapter one hundred and forty, the charter
of said corporation was further amended by changing its
name to the Presbyterian Eye, Ear and Throat Charity
Hospital, and by making provision for the election by the
then existing board of governors of such additional governors
as should be prescribed by the by-laws of said corporation,
and also by making the duration of said corporation unlimited ;
and whereas, certain of the said board of governors have
since died or resigned and certain other persons have been
from time to time elected members of said board by the sur-
vivors, therefore under the terms of the by-laws of said cor-
poration ; and whereas, it is desirable that the method by which
the perpetual succession of said corporation may be maintained
should be more accurately defined ; therefore,
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
