CHAP. 512.

Appropria-
tion for
schools and
charitable
institutions.

36. To the Faculty of Physic of the University of Mary-
land, for the use of the Baltimore Infirmary, the sum of tive
thousand dollars for the fiscal year nineteen hundred and three,
and the like sum of tive thousand dollars for the fiscal year
nineteen hundred and four ; provided, that the said Baltimore
Infirmary shall furnish one bed, maintenance and treatment
for one patient at a time for each Senatorial district of the
State during two years from the date of the passage of this
Act; provided, that the said hospital shall furnish to. the
Comptroller satisfactory evidence that it has so received, main-
tained and treated all patients, free of charge, sent to them
urnler the provisions of this Act, in consideration of the sum
of money hereby appropriated and payable.
37. To the Baltimore Humane Impartial Society and Aged
Women and Men's Homes, the sum of three thousand dollars
for the fiscal year nineteen hundred and three, and the like
sum of three thousand dollars for the fiscal year nineteen
hundred and four.
38. To the St. Elizabeth's Home of Baltimore City for Col-
ored Children, the sum of fifteen hundred dollars for the fiscal
year nineteen hundred and three, and the like sum of fifteen
hundred dollars for the fiscal year nineteen hundred and four.
39. To the Oblate Sisters of Providence, the sum of five
hundred dollars for the fiscal year nineteen hundred and three,
and the like sum of five hundred dollars for the fiscal year
nineteen hundred and four.
40. To the Home for Confederate Mothers and Children,
the sum of twenty-five hundred dollars for the fiscal year nine-
teen hundred and three, and the like sum of twenty-five hun-
dred dollars for the fiscal year nineteen hundred and four.
41. To the Maryland Agricultural College, the sum of nine
thousand dollars for the fiscal year nineteen hundred and
three, and the like sum of nine thousand dollars for the fiscal
year nineteen hundred and four, together with the further sum
of three thousand nine hundred aud ninety-six dollars for the
fiscal year nineteen hundred and three, and the sum of one thou-
sand seven hundred and seventy-six dollars for the fiscal year
nineteen hundred and four, the said latter amounts, viz : three
thousand nine hundred and ninety-six dollars, and one thou-
sand seven hundred and sixty-six dollars, being two per
centum on the endowment of eighty-eight thousand and eight
hundred dollars for three years and three months, or the differ-
ence between two per centum and five per centum, at which
latter rate the endowment is required to be invested by Acts
of Congress; said appropriations being made upon the recom-
mendation that the eaid College become the property of the
State of Maryland, and be made exclusively a technical school.
