CHAP. 608.

Repeal
wad re-enact

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That sections 18 and 19 of Article 99 of the Code
of Public General Laws, title "Wild Fowls, Birds and Game,"
as enacted by the Acts of 1900, chapter 371, be and the same
are hereby repealed and re-enacted with amendments, so as to
read as follows :

Game law.

Section 18. It shall be unlawful for any person to trap,
catch or kill any otter, raccoon or muskrat within this State,
or have the same in his possession, if trapped, caught or
killed within this State, between the first day of April and
the first day of January in each year.

Penalty
for violation

Section 19. Any person violating the preceding section
shall, on conviction, pay a tine of not less than five dollars nor
more than twenty dollars for each and every otter, raccoon or
muskrat trapped, caught, killed or in his possession, contrary
to the provision of the preceding section ; and in default of
payment of fine or fines imposed hereunder, together with
the cost, the offender shall be committed to jail for not less
than ten nor more than thirty days for each offense; one-half
of all fines go to the informer. The provisions of this Act
shall not apply to Baltimore, Harford, Cecil, Charles, Howard,
Anne Arundel, Caroline, Carroll, St. Mary's, Worcester,
Garrett, Prince George's, Calvert,' Allegany, Washington,
Frederick, Montgomery and Queen Anne's counties.
SEC. 2. And be it enacted. That this Act shall take effect
from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 504.
AN ACT to repeal and re-enact Section 127 of Article 22 of
the Code of Public Local Laws, title " Washington
County," sub-title " Fences," so as to read as follows :

Repeal
and re-enact.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That section 127 of Article 22 of the Code of
Public Local Laws, title " Washington County," sub-title
" Fences," be and the same is hereby repealed and re-enacted,
so as to read as follows :

Liable
for damages.

Section 127. If any live stock of any kind or description
whatsoever shall break into any person's enclosure (the same
being of the height and sufficiency prescribed in the pre-
ceding section), the owner of such live stock shall be liable to
make good all such damage to the owners of such enclosures
as shall be awarded by two or more judicious persons who
may view the same under oath made before some justice of
