CHAP. 489.

Unlawful to
Seep or allow
haul seines,
etc., in the
northwest
prong of the
Nanticoke
river
between cer-
tain hours.

Section 182 A. It shall not be lawful for any person to keep,
put or allow his, her or their haul-seines, float seines, fykes, or
pound nets, to catch fish in the waters of the northwest prong
of the Nanticoke river, between the hours of 12 P. M. on
Saturday to 12 P. M. on Sunday, and any person violating the
provisions of this law shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor
and upon conviction thereof before any justice of the peace in
and for Dorchester county shall be fined not less than tive and
not more than fifty dollars for each and every offence, or shall
be subject to a forfeiture of the seines, fykes or pound, or
both fine and forfeiture, in the discretion of the justice; pro-
vided, however, that the accused shall have a right to pray a
jury trial or take an appeal to the Circuit Court of Dorchester
County by giving the usual bonds required in such cases.

CHAPTER 490.
AN ACT to repeal and re-enact with amendments Section
52 of Article 81 of the Code of Public General Laws of
Maryland, title "Revenue and Taxes, " sub-title "Sales by
Collectors. "

Repeal and
re-enact.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That section 52 of Article 81 of the Code of Pub-
lic General Laws of Maryland be and the same is hereby
repealed and re-enacted with amendments, so as to read as
follows:

of land, etc.

52. In all cases where lands held in fee simple or by lease
have been sold according to law, or shall be sold for payment
of taxes in arrear, it shall be the duty of the collector of taxes
to report the said sale, together with all proceedings had in
relation thereto, to the Circuit Court for the county where
said lands are situate, or where said lands are situate in the
city of Baltimore to the Circuit Court or Circuit Court No. 2
of said city; the Court to which said report shall be made
shall examine the said proceedings, and if the same appear to
be regular, and the provisions or law in relation thereto have
been complied with, shall order notice to be given by adver-
tisement published in such newspaper or newspapers as the
Court shall direct, warning all persons interested in the prop-
erty sold to be and appear by a certain day, in the said notice
to be named, to show cause, if any they have, why said sale
shall not be ratified and confirmed; and if no cause, or an
insufficient cause be shown against the said ratification, the
said sale shall, by order of said Court, be ratified and con-
