such aid not to exceed the sum of four hundred dollars per

CHAPTER 56.

AN ACT to authorize, empower and direct the Board of
County Commissioners of Charles County to levy two
hundred and ninety-six dollars and seventy-three cents to
the use of J. B. W. Gardiner, erroneously paid in the
County Treasury.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That the Board of County Commissioners of

Charles county be and they are hereby authorized, empowered
and directed to levy at their next levy laying two hundred
and ninety six dollars and seventy-three cents to the use of J.
B. W. Gardiner, the said sum of money having been paid and
accepted in the treasury of Charles county in error.
SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this Act shall take effect
from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 57.

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact with amendments Section
46 of Article 3, Code of Public Local Laws, title Baltimore
County, sub-title County Treasurer.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of

Maryland, That section 46 of article 3 of the Code of Public
Local Laws, title Baltimore County, sub-title County Treasurer,
is hereby repealed and re-enacted so as to read as follows:
46. The annual tax levy made by the County Commis-
sioners shall be due and payable on the first day of May in
