CHAPTER 438.
AN ACT to appropriate a sum of money to pay the claim of
Howard E. White for services rendered during the session
of the House of Delegates in 1900.

CHAP. 438.

WHEREAS, Under due appointment the said Howard E.
White rendered certain services during part of the session of
the House of Delegates in 1900 ; and,
WHEREAS, No appropriation was made by the General
Assembly of Maryland for 1900 to pay for the same, the
claim remains unpaid ; therefore,

Preamble.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted ly the General Assembly of
Maryland, That the Comptroller of the State be and he is
hereby directed to draw his warrant upon the Treasurer of the
State in favor of Howard E. White for the sum of eighty
dollars ($80) for services rendered during the session of the
House of Delegates for the year 1900, and that the Treasurer
be and he is hereby directed to pay the same out of any
money in the treasury not otherwise appropriated.
SEC. 2. And be it enacted. That this Act shall take effect
from the date of its passage.
Approved April 8, 1902.

CHAPTER 439.
AN ACT to prohibit the pollution of streams of water in elec-
tion district number six of Garrett county.

Warrant to
be issued.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That it shall be unlawful for any person or per-
sons, firm or corporation, to pollute the streams of water in
election district number six of Garrett county by floating or
throwing in any sawdust, shavings, lime, poison, acids or any
other substance whatever that may be injurious or destructive
of fish life. Any person or persons, firm or corporation
violating the provisions of this Act shall be deemed guilty of
a misdemeanor, and on conviction thereof before a justice of
the peace or the Circuit Court for Garrett county, shall be
fined not less than fifty dollars nor more than two hundred
dollars, or im prison men tin the Maryland House of Correction
for not less than one year, or both fine and imprisonment, in
the discretion of the Court.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this. Act shall take effect on
June the first, nineteen hundred and two.
