CHAP. 418

Supervise
and inspect
work, etc.

118 A. The Superintendent of Public Education shall
supervise and inspect the work of manual and industrial
training done in the several counties of the State, under the
provisions of this Article, collect all necessary statistics
pertaining thereto, and annually, on or before the twentieth
day of August, certify to the Comptroller the names of such
counties as shall have complied with the provisions of
said Article relating to such training, and such as shall
for the ensuing year be deemed entitled to receive the appro-
priation or appropriations provided for in the preceding sec-
tions (specifically setting forth the amount to be paid to each
of said counties); and upon the receipt of such certificate
from the Superintendent of Public Education, but not other-
wise, the Comptroller shall draw his warrant upon the Treas-
urer, payable to the order of the treasurer of the Board of
County School Commissioners of the county so certified as
entitled to receive the same, for the full amount of money so
certified to be due to such county under the provisions of this
Article; and the Superintendent of Public Education shall,
on or before the twentieth day of August in each year, submit
to the State Board of Education a full report of all matters
pertaining to manual industrial training in such counties, and
attach there to a copy of the certificate tiled by him witli the
Comptroller.

Manual train-
ing schools
to be
established .

118 B. The several boards of county school commissioners
are hereby authorized to establish manual training schools and
departments of manual training in connection with such num-
ber of graded or high schools in their respective counties as
they shall deem expedient, and to distribute the money appro-
priated by this Article equitably among the manual training
schools and departments of manual training so established, to
the end that instruction in such branch may not be restricted
to one locality in such county, but extended, as far as practi-
cable, to the whole of such county ; provided, that the instruc-
tion to be given in such schools or departments shall in all
cases conform to the course or outline of such work prescribed
or to be prescribed by the State Board of Education ; and
provided that no part of the money appropriated by this
Article for manual training shall be used for any other
purpose.

Repeal.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That all parts of said chapter
273 of the Acts of 1898 (codified as sections 110 to 118,
inclusive, of said Article 77) inconsistent with the provisions of
this Act, and only such parts thereof, be and the same are
hereby repealed.
