of said corporation as they shall deem advantageous to the
interests thereof ; provided, the same be not contrary to the
law of the land.

CHAP. 406.

SEC. 16. And be it enacted, That the said corporation shall
be subject at all times to the provisions of the Acts of 1892,
chapter 109 and chapter 279 ; also subject to the Act of 1896,
chapter 160.

SEC. 17. And be it enacted, That the General Assembly
reserves the right to repeal, alter or amend this Act.

SEC. 18. And be it enacted, That this Act shall take effect
from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 406.

AN ACT to Incorporate the Legore Power, Manufacturing
and Construction Company.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That James W. Legore, Columbus A. Welker,
Robert L. Hammond, George F. Smith and William B.
Stambaugh, all residents of the State of Maryland, and their
associates, successor and assigns, be and they are hereby
created and made a body corporate, under and by the name
and style of the Legore Power, Manufacturing and Con-
struction Company, and by that name shall have perpetual
succession, and shall be capable to sue and be sued, complain
or defend in any Court of Law or Equity, to make and use a
common seal, and alter the same at pleasure, to receive and
make deeds and contracts, to acquire by purchase or in any
other manner, to take and receive, hold, use, employ, manage,
mortgage, dispose of or in any manner not inconsistent with
law, deal in any property, real, personal or mixed, and
situated in or out of this State, which may be necessary or
proper to enable said corporation to carry out its operations or
fulfill the purposes named in this Act, and generally to do
every other act or thing not inconsistent with law, which may
be necessary, or be proper to promote the object, designs or
purposes for which this corporation is formed, which are
hereby declared to be for the purpose of constructing a
da'm on the Monocacy river, in Frederick county, for
the purpose of furnishing power for milling or any other
manufacturing purposes, and the generating of electricity
for light and power, and to use and sell the same to
private individuals or public and private corporations for
all lighting and power purposes, with right to supply, lease
