CHAP. 384.

appointed the clerk and treasurer under -the provisions of law
that are hereby repealed.

papers, etc,,
to be
exhibited
upon
application.

Section 52. He shall upon application exhibit the books,
papers and levies in his office and make certified copies or
extracts thereof for any person demanding the same, and
charge for the same, for the use of the county, such fees as
are chargeable by the clerk of the Circuit Court for similar
work, and such copies, under the seal of the County Commis-
sioners, shall be evidence to the same extent as the originals
would be if produced in proceedings in Court or otherwise;
all fees received from this source, however, shall be accounted
for to the County Commissioners by the said clerk and
treasurer.

Salary.

Section 53. He shall receive a salary not exceeding eight
hundred dollars, nor less than six hundred dollars, and shall
receive no extra or other compensation or fees of any kind for
the duties now imposed upon himself by law by the provisions
of thie Act or otherwise, which may properly appertain to his
office.

Collect,
receive and
disburse
money.

Section 54. He shall collect, receive and disburse all moneys
which may come into his hands as treasurer for the payment
of the jurors, bailiffs, witnesses, messengers and criers attend-
ing the Circuit Court for Charles County, and for the payment
of the county bonds and interest thereon and all other moneys
from whatsoever source that may be payable to the said
County Commissioners under the provisions of the Public
General Laws of this State or the Public Local Laws of this
county, or otherwise ; all of said funds to be collected,
received, deposited and disbursed under such regulations not
inconsistent with law as the County Commissioners shall pre-
scribe, and such orders not inconsistent with law as they shall
from time to time make, and for the purpose of making pay-
ments to the jurors, bailiffs, witnesses, messengers and criers
aforesaid he shall attend to the court house during the sessions of
the Circuit Court ; he shall keep a complete set of books show-
ing receipts of all moneys received by him as aforesaid, and
disbursements of the same, which said books shall be at all
times open to the inspection of the public, and he shall imme-
diately after each jury term of the Circuit Court for said
county make a full and detailed report and exhibit to the
County Commissioners of all his receipts and disbursements,
together with the vouchers therefor, and the. failure to do so
for thirty days after the adjournment of such Court shall be
cause for removal from his said office, in the discretion of the
County Commissioners.
