going at large, and any constable or officer of the law so
taking up and impounding shall notify a justice of the peace
resident within said county, who shall give notice of said
impounding by advertisement set up at one or more public
places, describing the stock so impounded and same will be
sold at public auction at some place in said limits within four
days; provided, that if the owner of any stock impounded
under this section shall prove to the satisfaction of the justice
that said stock did not go at large from negligence or want
of care on his part, and that due diligence was used to
prevent it, he shall have return of the property on paying
the justice of the peace such fees as lie would receive for
similar work, as is provided in the Estray law. The con-
stable shall receive fifty cents for taking up of each "Stock."
He shall also receive for board as follows, viz: Horses and
mules fifty cents per day, cattle thirty cents and swioe ten
cents per day.

CHAP. 895.

Duty of
constables
and officers.

Section 192. Out of all monies arising from the execution
of the preceding section the justice of the peace shall collect
and pay to the party taking and impounding said stock such
fees as are prescriped in the preceding section, and the bal-
ance to the owner who may establish his claim to said property,
and in the event of no such claimant appearing within thirty
days then the balance after deducting costs, shall be paid into
the school fund for Wicomico county.

CHAPTER 296.
AN ACT to add three new sections to Article 33 of the
Code of Public General Laws, title "Elections," to come in
after Section 151 and to be called Sections 152, 153 and 154,
sub-title "Primary Elections," regulating primary elections
in this State ; and to repeal all Public Local Laws applicable
to and regulating primary elections in Baltimore city, Balti-
more county and Montgomery county.

Fees
to be paid.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That the following three new sections be and the
same are hereby added to Article 33 of the Public General
Laws, title "Elections," to come in after section 151 and to be
called section 152, section 153 and section 154, under sub-title
"Primary Elections," said sections to severally read as follows:
152. Political parties which at the general election held on
November 5, 1901, polled ten per cent, of the entire vote cast
