such miscellaneous books (not including reference or other
books inappropriate for the purpose) from the State library, as
may be designated by the State Library Committee.

SEC. 5. And be it enacted, That said commission shall formu-
late such reasonable regulations for the use and care of the
books of such traveling libraries as they may deem proper;
and shall from time to time send out and distribute such books
throughout the State, and at suitable intervals change such
distributions so as to secure the greatest practicable advantage
and facility for reading to the people of the State.

SEC. 6. And be it enacted, That immediately upon the
organization of said commission the State Treasurer shall,
upon the warrant of the Comptroller, pay to the president of
the commission the sum of one thousand dollars, and annu-
ally thereafter shall so pay the like sum of one thousand
dollars, for the use of the commission.
SEC. 7. And be it enacted, That this Act shall take effect
from the date of passage.

CHAPTER 248.

AN ACT to amend the Charter of the Baltimore Chrome
"Works.

Capital stock
to be
increased.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That the Baltimore Chrome Works, a corporation
Incorporated by the Act of 1867, chapter 95, be and it is
hereby authorized to increase its capital stock at any time, or
from time to time, to not exceeding ten thousand shares of
the par value of one hundred dollars each, and that any or all
of said increased stock may be issued and disposed of as pre-
ferred stock or as common stock, and made redeemable on
such terms as the stockholders who may be entitled to vote
may at the time or times of issue determine and authorize.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect from the date of its passage.
Approved, April 8, 1902.

CHAPTER 249.

AN ApT to repeal and re-enact with amendments sections
98 e and 98 D, 98 E, of Article 14 of the Code of Public
Local Laws, title "Howard County," sub-title "Liquor and
Intoxicating Drinks," and to add a new section to said
Article to be designated as section 98 E.
