CHAPTER 111.
AN ACT to give the sanction and consent of the General
Assembly of Maryland to the deed of a certain piece of land
to the trustees of the Twelfth Presbyterian Church in the
City of Baltimore, otherwise the Twelfth Presbyterian Con-
gregation in the City of Baltimore, a corporation.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That the sanction and consent of the General

Assembly of Maryland be and the same is hereby declared,
given and granted to the following deed by William C. Lewis
and Eliza Jane Lewis, his wife, of Baltimore city, to the trus-
tees of the Twelfth Presbyterian Church, in the city of Balti-
more, otherwise the Twelfth Presbyterian Congregation in the
City of Baltimore, a corporation : all that lot of ground
situated, lying and being in Baltimore city and which is more
particularly described in a deed dated the 16th day of March,
eighteen hundred and sixty-six, and recorded among the land
records of Baltimore city in Liber A. M. No. 324, folio 419.
SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this Act shall take effect from
the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 112.
AN ACT to make women eligible as Notaries Public by
adding a Section to Article 69 of the Public General Laws
of Maryland, title "Notaries Public," to follow Section 11,
and to be known as Section 12.

Sanction
and consent
given.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That the following section be and the same is
hereby added to article 69 of the Public General Laws of
Maryland, title "Notaries Public," to follow section 11, and
to be known as section 12.

New section
added.

12. Six women, in other respects qualified, and no more,
shall be eligible as notaries public in the city of Baltimore,
and one woman, in other respects qualified, and no more, shall
be eligible as a notary public in each of the counties of the
State ; provided, that the provisions of this Act shall not
apply to Washington county.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this Act shall take effect
from the date of its passage.
