LLOYD LOWNDES, ESQUIRE, GOVERNOR.

"Washington County," sub-title "Hagerstown," to follow sec-
tion 205 F of said Article twenty-two, and to be known and
designated as sections 205 G, 205 H, 205 I, 205 J and 205 K of
said Article twenty-two, and to read as follows :
205 G. The Mayor and Council of Hagerstown are author-

ized and empowered to borrow a sum of money not exceeding
seven thousand dollars, on the faith and credit of the town, as
hereinafter provided, which shall be known and designated as
"Series 2 of Drainage Bonds," and the money arising from
their sale shall be applied and used exclusively for the follow-
ing drains: on drain beginning at the alley running west from
Foundry street, between Washington and Franklin streets, and
running northward across Franklin and George streets to
Church street; thence eastward to the west end drain, a dis-
tance of fourteen hundred feet; the drain beginning at the
property of Walter Hutchings, on West Washington, and
funning thence in a northerly direction three hundred and
thirty-five feet; a drain to connect with the north end drain
where it crosses Franklin street, to extend westwardly with
said street the distance of four hundred feet; to complete the
north end drain to its terminus at Boward's Lime Kilns, a dis-
tance of nine hundred feet; provided, that to each drain
hereinbefore named and designated, except the Franklin street
drain to which the sum of two dollars and fifty cents per
linear foot is appropriated, the sum of two dollars and twenty-
one cents per linear foot according to the distance hereinbefore
set forth, shall be appropriated to be applied and used exclu-
sively upon each of the hereinbefore named drains, upon the
basis of the lengths hereinbefore set forth; provided, that if
any drain hereinbefore named and designated shall be
fully constructed at a cost of less than said sum of two
dollars and twenty-one cents per linear foot, or in the Franklin
street drain at a cost less than two dollars and fifty cents per
linear foot, then the unexpended balance er surplus from said
drain shall be appropriated to the completion of any drain
hereinbefore named and designated, if there shall be found to
be a deficiency in the sum appropriated for the completion of
any said drains, and provided further, that if, after the com-
pletion of the drains provided for in section 205 G, there shall
remain any unexpended balance of money arising from the
proceeds of the sale of said bonds, said balance shall be placed
to the credit of the account of grades, drains, cleaning and
lime to be expended upon any other drain of Hagerstown
heretofore constructed upon the order of the Mayor and
Council.
