SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That, this act shall take effect
from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 398.

AN ACT to amend Article twenty-one of the Code of Public
Local Laws, entitled "Talbot County," sub-title "Easton," by
adding Subsection fifty-three A to Section fifty-three of
Article twenty one, relating to the powers of the Commis-
sioners of Easton.

Effective.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That the following sub-section be and it is hereby added
to section fifty-three of article twenty-one of the Code of Pub-
lic Local Laws of Maryland, entitled " Talbot County," sub-
title "Easton," to be designated as section fifty-three A :

New section.

53 A. The Commissioners of Easton shall have full power ,
and control over the streets, lanes and alleys of Eastrn, with
authority to pass all needful ordinances to carry into effect the
provisions of this section and to grant franchises for the use
of the said streets, lanes and alleys, upon such terms and con-
ditions as shall be beneficial to the interests of the town.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this act shall take effect from
the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 399.

AN ACT to confirm to William T. Joyce, the title in certain
real estate purchased by him at tax sale.

Effective.

WHEEEAS, On the application of Mrs. Melissa McCullough
Brown, dated the nineteenth day of September, eighteen hun-
dred and seventy-nine, the Commissioners of the Land Office
of Maryland issued to her a warrant of escheat for a resurvey
