LLOYD LOWNDES, ESQUIRE, GOVERNOR.

land, passed at its January session, one thousand eight hundred
and ninety-four (and especially sections one and seven), be, and
the same are hereby amended so as to change the name of said
corporation to Maryland Home Fire Insurance .Company, and
all obligations to and from said Maryland Mutual Fire Insur-
ance Company shall remain good and binding as if issued to
or by the said corporation under the name and style of "Mary-
land Home Fire Insurance Company."

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That the principal office
of the said corporation may be changed from Crisfield to any
other place in the State of Maryland determined upon by a
majority of the stockholders of said corporation present at a
general or special meeting of said company.

SEC. 3. And be it further enacted, That all persons, firms
and corporations insured in this company are bound, and agree,
by the acceptance of their respective policies (where no pre-
mium note has been given), to pay to said company ssch sums
and at such times as the board of directors shall assess and
order for the payment of losses and other obligations, provid-
ing the total of such assessments may be fixed by the by-laws,
but shall not exceed the amount of their annual premiums on
any policy.

Sec. 4. And be it further enacted, That this act shall take
effect from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 63.
AN ACT supplementary to an Act for founding a college in
Ghestertown, passed at a session of the General Assembly of
Maryland, 1782, Chapter 8, authorizing the establishment by
the Visitors and Governors of said College of a Department
of Pedagogy.

Effective.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That the Visitors and Governors of Washington College ]
in the State of Maryland, shall have full power and authority
to establish in said college or seminary of learning, a depart-
ment of pedagogy for the instruction and practice of teachers
in the science of education, the art of teaching and the mode
of governing schools, to which department students of both
sexes shall be admitted.
