janitor of the House of Delegates, at five dollars per day, four
hundred and fifty dollars; for the per diem of one postmaster
to the House of Delegates, at five dollars per day, four hundred
and £fty dollars; for the per diem of one messenger to the
printer and mail-carrier, at five dollars per day, four hundred
and fifty dollars; for the per diem of three chaplains of the
House of Delegates, one hundred and fifty dollars each, four
hundred and fifty dollars; and for the above expenses of the
Legislature, the sum of one hundred and twenty-five thousand
dollars, or so much thereof as may be necessary, is hereby ap-
propriated; for the printing of the General Assembly of 1898,
eighteen thousand and five hundred dollars, or so much thereof
as may be necessary; for binding the laws, journals and docu-
ments of said session of the General Assembly, three thousand
dollars or so much thereof as may be necessary; for indexing
the Journals and documents of the Senate and House of Dele-
gates, six hundred dollars or so much thereof as may be neces-
sary; for indexing the laws, three hundred and fifty dollars or
so much thereof as may be necessary; to the Secretary of the
Senate and Chief Clerk of the House of Delegates, for copy-
ing and arranging for publication the laws of said session, three
hundred dollars each, six hundred dollars; and for salaries dur-
ing the recess of the Legislature, three hundred dollars each,
six hundred dollars; to the clerk of the Court of Appeals, for
recording the laws of the General Assembly of 1898, four hun-
dred and fifty dollars.

city, for making out lists of the holders of Baltimore city stock,
two hundred dollars each, six hundred dollars; to the Register
of Baltimore city, for collecting the State tax on Baltimore
city stock, three hundred dollars; to the person employed to
take care of the rooms of the Court of Appeals, one hundred
dollars; for printing the report of the State Tax Commissioner,
four hundred dollars, or so much thereof as may be necessary ;
for the postage for the executive department, land office, treas-
ury department, secretary of the Senate and chief clerk of the
House of Delegates, twelve hundred and fifty dollars, or so
much thereof as may be necessary; for fuel and lights of the
public buildings and grounds, tq be expended under the direc-
tion and control of the Governor, eight thousand dollars, or as
much thereof as may be necessary; to the twenty six news-
papers in which shall be published the defaulters to the State
