Terms of
office.

2. One of said trustees shall be taken from the first or sev-
enth district, one from the second or sixth district, one from
the third district, one from the fourth district, and one from
the fifth district of said county. And after said five trustees
are appointed, two of whom shall be of a different political
party from that of a majority of the County Commissioners,
their names shall be written upon slips of paper of even size
and quality, folded and placed in a proper box, by the president
of the board of County Commissioners, and the clerk of the
said commissioners, who shall not be present during the arrange-
ment of said slips, shall then draw out of said box, said names ;
the first name drawn shall serve one year, the next two drawn
shall serve three years from the date of their appointment, and
until their successors are appointed and qualify. The County
Commissioners shall thereafter appoint the successors to said
trustees each for term of three years, as their terms respec-
tively expire.

Overseer.

10. They shall meet between the first and fifteenth days of
September in each year, and appoint a fit and proper citizen of
Kent county to be overseer of the almshouse in said county,
and such other proper officers and employees as may be neces-
sary for carrying on the business of said corporation.

Effective.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this act shall take
effect from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 282.

AN ACT to repeal Section eighty-eight of Article fifteen of
the Code of Public Local Laws, title "Kent County," sub-
title "Crier," and to re-enact said section with amendments,
under a new sub-title called "Janitor."

Repeal.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That section eighty-eight of Article fifteen of the Code
of Public Local Laws, title "Kent County," sub-title "Crier,"
be and the same is hereby repealed, and said section is hereby
re-enacted under a new sub-title called "Janitor," so as to read
as follows:

Appointment
of janitor.

88. There shall be appointed annually on the first Tuesday
in May, in each year, by the County Commissioners of Kent
county, a suitable and competent person as janitor of the court
