interest in the management of said school; a woman shall always
succeed a woman, and a man shall always succeed a man, so that
equality in that respect shall be maintained among such trustees,
and as far as possible equality of representation shall also be
maintained among them in respect of either political views in
making appointments to fill vacancies in their number; and the
trustees named in this act shall be eligible for reappointment.
SEC. 19. And be it enacted, That chapter 620 of the Acts of

483

1894, entitled "An Act to authorize the School Commissioners
of Anne Arundel county to borrow money on the credit of
Anne Arundel county, to purchase a lot or lots and to erect and
furnish, with the assistance of the city of Annapolis, a public
school building in the city of Annapolis," be, and the same is
hereby repealed; and all acts or parts of acts and provisions of
the Codes of Public General Laws or Public Local Laws, incon-
sistent with the provisions of this act be, and the same hereby
are repealed.

Repeal.

SEC. 20. And be it enacted, That this act shall take effect
from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 276.

AN ACT to repeal Section seventy-six of Article twenty-one
of the Code of Public Local Laws of the State of Maryland,
entitled "Talbot County," sub-title "Easton," as repealed
and re-enacted by the Acts of eighteen hundred and
ninety-four, Chapter five hundred and sixty-five, Section
seventy-six, relating to taxing billiard tables in the town of
Easton.

Effective

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That section seventy-six of Article twenty-one of the
Code of Public Local Laws of the State of Maryland, entitled
"Talbot County," sub-title "Easton," as repealed and re-enacted
by the acts of eighteen hundred and ninety-four, chapter five
hundred and sixty-five, section seventy-six, authorizing the
commissioners of Easton to levy an annual tax for every bil-
liard and pool table in said town where a charge is made for
the games, be and the same is hereby repealed.

Repeal.


SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this act shall take effect
from the date of its passage.
Approved April 2d, 1896.
