LAWS OF MARYLAND.

CHAPTER 106.

AN ACT to repeal and re enact, with amendments, Section
twelve of Article thirteen of the Code of Public General
Laws of the State of Maryland, entitled "Bills of Exchange
and Promissory Notes."

Repeat.

SECTION. 1 Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That section twelve of Article thirteen of the Code of
Public General Laws, title "Bills of Exchange and Promissory
Notes," be and the same is hereby repealed and re-enacted, so
as to read as follows :

No grace
upon notes,
etc.

12. That on all notes, drafts, checks, acceptances, bills of ex-
change, bonds or other evidences of indebtedness, made, drawn
or accepted by any person or corporation after this act shall
take effect, and in which there is no expressed stipulation to
the contrary, no grace according to the custom of merchants,
shall be allowed, but the same shall be due and payable, as
therein expressed, without grace.

Approved March 27th, 1896.

CHAPTER 107.

AN ACT to prevent the trespassing of stock upon the Court
House Square, or lot, in Prince Fredericktown, Calvert
County.

Stock going
at large.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That it shall not be lawful for stock of any kind to eo
at large, or trespass upon the square or lot, surrounding the
Court House in Prince Fredericktown, Calvert county.

Stock to be
sold.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That it shall be lawful for the
sheriff, constable, or any other officer duly qualified to take up
and impound any horse, mule, horned cattle, swine or geese
which may be found going at large on the square, or lot sur-
rounding the Court House in said county, and any officer so
taking up and impounding, shall notify a justice of the peace
in said county, who shall give notice of said impounding, by
advertisement set up at one or more public places, describing
the stock so impounded, and that the same will be sold at pub-
lic auction, at some public place in said town, within four days ;
provided, that if the owner of any stock impounded under
