SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That it shall be the duty of the County Commissioners
of Carroll county to pay annually to the Burgess and Commis-
sioners of New Windsor, one-half of the amount of taxes
levied and collected annually by said County Commissioners
for road purposes upon the assessable property liable to taxa-
tion within the limits of the corporation of New Windsor, to
be appropriated and used by the said Burgess and Commis-
sioners of New Windsor, for the repair, maintenance and
improvement of the streets and roads within the limits of said
corporation.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this act shall take effect
from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 104.

AN ACT to amend the charter of the Maryland Homeo-
pathic Hospital and Free Dispensary of Baltimore city.

Effective.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That the charter of "The Maryland Homeopathic Hos-
pital and Free Dispensary of Baltimore city," a corporation
duly incorporated under the General Laws of Maryland,
relating to corporations, be and the same is hereby so amended
that the number of the members of the board of directors who
shall manage the said corporation, shall be not less than twelve
nor more than twenty-five, seven of whom shall constitute a
quorum for the transaction of business.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That the members of
said board shall be divided into tive classes, each to be com-
posed of not more than tive members; the terms of office of
the first class shall expire on the second Thursday of April,
1897; of the second class on the second Thursday of April,
1898; of the third class on the second Thursday of April,
1899; of the fourth class on the second Thursday of April,
1900, and of the fifth class on the second Thursday of April,
1901, and in regular rotation each year the term of office of
one of said five classes shall expire and a new class shall be
elected; and it is further provided, that the election shall be
held at the time and place and in the manner that may be pre-
scribed in the by-laws of said corporation, and at the first
