equitable principles in trade; to establish and maintain
uniformity in commercial usage; to acquire, preserve and dis-
seminate valuable business information; and to adjust contro-
versies and misunderstandings between its members among
themselves, or between them and other persons thereto con-
senting, which may arise in the course of business.

Effective.

SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That this act shall take effect
from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 91.
AN ACT to repeal Chapter 112 of the Acts of 1894, entitled
an Act to add an additional Section to Article 16 of the Code
of Public Local Laws, title Montgomery County, in regard
to horses and carriages at livery, and to add certain new sec-
tions to said Article, under the sub-title, Horses and
Carriages at Livery, to follow Section 123, to be designated as
123 A., 123 B., and 123 c.

Repeal.
|
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That chapter 112 of the acts of 1894, entitled an act to
add an additional section to article 16 of the Code of Public
Local Laws, title, Montgomery county, in regard to horses and
carriages at livery in said county, be and the same is hereby

repealed, and that three new sections be and the same are
hereby added to said article under the new sub-title, Horses
and Carriages at livery, to follow section 123, to be designated,
sections. 123 A., 123B., and 123C., and to read as follows:

charges.
|
123 A. It shall be lawful for any livery stable keeper or for
any farmer, who takes horses or other live stock at his stable,
or on his farm, for the purposes of livery or grazing, or winter-
ing such stock, in Montgomery county, to retain in his custody,
any horse, mare, gelding, or other live stock placed under his
care for livery, grazing, or wintering, as the case may be, and
also any vehicle in their respective charge, until all charges for
so keeping the same shall have been paid by the owner, or his
agent; and if such owner or agent shall, when using such
horse, mare, gelding, other live stock or vehicle, fail to return
the same to such livery stable keeper or farmer, with intent to
evade the payment of any charges due for the keep or care of
