in Garrett county, within two miles of Anderson Chapel, in
the village of Swanten, Garrett county, Maryland.

Effective.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this act shall take effect
from the date of its passage.

Approved February 17, 1896.

CHAPTER 10.

AN ACT to require the County Commissioners of Carroll
County to pay to the Mayor and Common Council of Man-
chester, one-half of the amount of road tax levied or taxed
upon the property within the limits of the town of Man-
chester.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That it shall be the duty of the County Commissioners
of Carroll county to pay annually to the Mayor and Common
Council of Manchester, one-half of the amount of taxes levied
and collected annually by said County Commissioners for road
purposes, upon the assessable property liable to taxation within
the limits of the town of Manchester, to be appropriated and
used by the said Mayor and Common Council of Manchester,
for the repair, maintenance and improvement of the streets
and roads within the limits of said town.

Effective.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this act shall take effect
from the date of its passage.
Approved February 25th, 1896.

CHAPTER 11,

AN ACT to authorize and empower the Commissioners of
Thurmont to borrow money necessary to pay a mortgage on
the town hall property, not exceeding the sum of fifteen
hundred dollars, and to issue bonds therefor.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That the Commissioners of Thurmont be and they
are hereby authorized and empowered to issue bonds in the
name of said commissioners of Thurmont, to an amount not
