LICENSES

Sale of liquors, &c. in quantities less than

   
 

10 gallons, and not less than a pint, prohi-

   
 

bited under such license in the city of Bal-

   
 

timore, unless 4 dollars in addition to the

   
 

12 dollars be paid to the clerk of the city

   
 

court therefor, which said 4 dollars is to

be applied to the expenses of the gaol, &c.

Such license to state expressly that the

   
 

person is so authorised to sell liquors in

   
 

such quantities,

 

 

In case of removal of store, &c the name

   
 

and description of the new place, &c. to be

   
 

endorsed by the county clerk, upon the said

   
 

license, in order to authorise selling there-

No distiller of spirituous liquors to sell

   
 

less than a quart without obtaining license,

 

 

Ordinary,tavern or inn, victualing house,

   
 

cookshop or oyster house, or any place at

   
 

which spirituous or fermented liquors shall

   
 

be sold in quantities less than a pint, pro-

   
 

hibited, without obtaining license therefor,

Such license shall not be granted by

   
 

clerk of county or city court to persons to

   
 

whan the grand jury shall object, without

   
 

special direction of the court,

Clerk of county or city court to grant

   
 

license to keep a victualing house or cook-

   
 

shop, or an oyster house, on receiving $12

   
 

therefor; and a license to keep an ordinary,

   
 

tavern, inn, &c. on receiving 18 dollars

Said license to prescribe the place, &c.

   
 

Duration limited to the first of May

   
 

thereafter,

   
 

Sheriffs directed to publish notices and

   
 

return to the clerk of the county coun lists

   
 

of persons that ought to have license to

Shall return monthly all additions occur-

   
 

ing to said list,

   
 

Clerk of county and city courts to re-

   
 

turn half yearly, on or before the 1st day

   
 

of May and November, to the treasurer of

   
 

the Western Shore, an account of all such

   
 

licenses granted,
