2. Resolved unanimously , That the Governor of this state
be authorised and directed to procure such a sword as he may
deem fit, and present the same to H. E. Baliard, on behalf of
the state, as a testimony of their high consideration and value
of his services; and the Governor is hereby authorised to draw
upon the treasurer of the Western Shore of Maryland, for
such a sum as will be necessary for the same.

money that may be due Montgomery county, as her portion
of the free school fund

Resolved, That the treasurer 6f the Western Shore be di-
rected to invest in the stock of such banks in the city of Bal-
timore as he may deem most judicious for the interest of the
county, such sum of money as may be due to Montgomery
county as her portion of the free school fund, and now lying
dormant in the treasury of the Western Shore

Resolved by the General Assembly of Maryland, That the
treasurer of the Western Shore be, and he is hereby autho-
rised and required to invest in one of the banks of this state,
the amount of schsol fund due to Charles county, now in the
treasury, and that the same shall be ^ held for the benefit of
free schools for Charles county,

Eastern Shores, respectively, to deposit in bank all monies now
in their possession, or which hereafter they may receive.

|
Resolved, That the treasurers for the Western and Eastern
Shores, respectively, be, and they are hereby authorised to
deposit and keep to their credit, as treasurers as aforesaid,
and subject to their official checks, in such bank or banks as
they respectively shall judge best for the interest and security
of the state, all public monies now in their possession, or
which hereafter they may receive.
