CHAP, 26.

Approval,

SEC. 8. And be it en acted, That this supplement, ss well as
the original act, shall nor have any force or validity until ap-
proved by the Mayor ami City Council of Baltimore.

Passed January 30 .

CHAPTER 27.

An act for the relief of Francina Matthews , of Cecil county

Levy of $75

Be it enacted by the General Assembly -t f Maryland, That
the judges of the levy court of Cecil county, be, and they
are hereby authorised and empowered at their next annual
meeting. and so long as thev shall see cause to do so, to as-
sess and levy on the assessable property of said county a sum
of money not exceeding seventy-five dollars, tor the use and
support of Franrina Matthews, of said county, so long as she
remains in the Baltimore Hospital.

An act to revive an act, passed at November Session, 1811
chapter 153, arcd 70 repeal an act, passed at December ses-
sion, 1826, chapter 144, concerning the town of Salisbury, in
Somerset and Worcester counties.

153, revived

SECTION 1 . Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That the provisions of an act, passed at November ses-
sion, 1811, chapter 153, be and the same are hereby revived,
re-enacted and declared to be in full force, excepting such
parts thereof as are inconsistent with the provisions of this
act.

Election of Com-
missioners

SEC. 2. And be It enacted, That the election of commis-
sioners for the said town, shall he on some dav before the
last day of May next, after five days public notice thereof
and of the place of holding said election, shall have been gi-
ven, by advertisements set up at the taverns in said town,
signed by some justice of the peace of either of the said coun-
ties; and the annual election thereafter shall he on some day
to be appoint d by the commissioners, of which ten days no-
tice shall he given.

Meeting bailiff.

SEC 3, And be it enacted, That the commissioners shall
ment as soon after their flection ss convenient, and may ap-
point a bailiff for the said town, and a clerk to record their
proceedings, whom they shall have power to remove, from
time to time, as they may see proper.

Powers granted.

SEC. 4, And be it enacted That the said commissioners
shall have power and authority to make, constitute and ordain
such bye-laws, rules, regulations, and ordinances, for the im-
provements of the said town, as they may deem most condu-
cive and beneficial to its best interests and amelioration; and
the same to repeal, alter and amend, whenever, and as often as
suchh repeal, alteration or amendment, in their judgment shall
