and benefit, and the same to dispose of according to her will
and pleasure, without the molestation, interference, hindrance
or consent of her said husband, or of any person or persons
claiming by, from or under her said husband, in the same man-
ner she could or might have done, were she a feme sole.

CHAP, 147,

Sec. 3. And be it enacted, That the real and personal estate
of the said James Currey, shall be, and hereby is discharged
from all claim on the part of the said Sarah Currey, to dower
or to a distributive share therein, and of and from all claim of
any nature or description whatsoever of the said Sarah Cur-
rey; and that the said James Currey shall not be liable for
-any debts to be hereafter contracted by the said Sarah Currey.

His liability extin-
guished.

CHAPTER 148.

 

An act for the relief of the securities of Basil Bowling, of
Prince George's County.

Passed March 10,

1823.

SECTION 1, Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Ma-
ryland, That the securities of Basil Bowling, former sheriff
and collector for Prince George's county, be and they arc
hereby authorised to collect any balance of taxes or fees which.
may be due said Bowling in the same manner and with the
same power and privileges as were formerly allowed to said

Bowling when sheriff and collector: Provided, That if any
person against whom there is a claim by said Bowling for
taxes or fees, shall believe the same to be unjust, or to have
been paid at any previous time, and will make an affidavit to
that effect, before a justice of the peace, it shall forever bar
such claim for fees or taxes: And provided also, That this
act shall only continue in force for one year from its passage,

Proviso

SEC 2, And be it enacted, That this law shall not authorise
the said securities to collect any fees or taxes due by the es-
tate of any deceased person, unless the representatives, execu-
tors or administrators of such deceased .person shall volunta-
rily pay the same.

An act for the relief of Fitz King, an imprisoned debtor, in tht
jail of Baltimore County.

Passed March 16
1828

WHEREAS, Fitz King has been confined in the jail of Bal-
timore county for upwards of three years, on a claim for a
debt, which he alleges he is anable to pay; Therefore

Preamble

Be it enacted by the General Assembly, of Maryland, That
the commissioners of insolvent debtors for Baltimore county
and city, be, and they are hereby authorised on the petition of
said Fitz King, to grant him immediately a personal dis-
charge: Provided, That such discharge shall not operate to
